About the Opportunity
The City of Thousand Oaks has an excellent opportunity for the new role of Transportation & Mobility Division Manager in the Public Works Department. This newly created position will be responsible for planning and managing the City’s extensive transportation, mobility, and public transit programs, with an emphasis on active transportation and transit.
The Transportation & Mobility Division Manager serves as a division head with broad responsibility for selecting, directing, supervising, training, and evaluating staff. The position oversees transportation and transit planning, traffic engineering, traffic signal infrastructure, transit operations, crossing guards, review of private projects for transportation impacts, transportation capital project delivery, consultant and contractor management, and operating and capital budgets. The successful candidate will bring strong technical, administrative, and interpersonal skills; sound independent judgment; and the ability to manage complex programs, competing priorities, and sensitive issues while maintaining effective relationships with City officials, regional partners, contractors, and the community.
